The day after Christmas we emerged from our apartment to find the waterfront cafes had multiplied and locals and tourists alike were enjoying the sunny Saturday. After a quick stroll down a busy shopping street and our first roasted chestnuts, we set our sights on what Porto is know for, Port wine. We had been having Port wine with our dinners, however sampling them at beautiful Port wine cellars helped us to appreciate the wines even more. After some long awaited traditional sardines and a fun evening at Cris bar we called it a night knowing we would be back for more tastings the next day. An early morning with Porto on our mind we crossed the bridge on which we could see the names of the wineries we would be visiting; Sandeman, Taylor, Quevodo, and Croft. Port wine tasting is reason enough to come back to this wonderful town, not to mention being one of the most beautiful waterfront areas we have seen.
